A heatwave stay and the house was lovely and cool.  We always enjoy what Kirkby Lonsdale has to offer but had to cut some of our walks short because of the heat.  3 nights gave us just enough time to unwind & recharge the batteries.  In the visitors books 2011, 2013, 2014, 2020 & many more.

What a super place to visit.  This cottage is perfect for a relaxing stay.  Lovely town with some great pubs an resaurants.  The views are stunning.  We loved Ingleton Falls and the Devils Bridge loop walk was beautiful.  The weather was also kind to us.  The host really has thought of everything.  I will be recommending this place to friends.  We will miss how quiet it is here.  So relaxing.  Thankyou Jackie for all prompt correspondence.

10th-13th April 2026 – Another great stay at Chapel Cottage.  This time it was for our Wedding Anniversary – and we were on our own for once!!  A lovely weekend blessed by weather better than was forecast.  2 very nice dinners at Number Nine and a late Sunday lunch at The Highwayman.  Thanks Jackie – hope the wedding went well and your holiday immediately after.

Despite the difficulty negotiating the arch we have had 3 lovely days in K>L>  an area we have visited on numerous occasions but the first time we have stayed in this cottage.  Everything has been very comfortable & excellent.  We always enjoy The Orange Tree & Brewery for drinks & we had an excellent day trip on the Settle – Carlisle railway.  Had Sunday lunch in The White Duke.  An excellent recommendation.

Another lovely WE relaxing in Kirkby Lonsdale at the cottage.  Thank you Jackie as always for your cottages hospitality.  The Autumn nip was in the air in the mornings, but the sun was out, & we enjoyed all the usual treats of the town.  Lunch in Botanicals, dinner in Avanti & of course a trip to the bakery.  We missed Café 44 – hopefully they’ll be open again when we return (early 2023!)

We really enjoyed the stay at Chapel Cottage, our first in K.L.  Eating breakfast outside was perfect and the rest of the time we ate out, walked along the river & back via Whittington and managed to sample the local beers & pizza in the KL Brewery.  Dinner in Botanica, lunch in Number 44 and amazing cocktails in Number 9 as well as artisan gin tasting of Stormy Bay was perfect.  Would love to come back again in future.

Andrew & Diane Gardner – Ackworth. 

We’ve always enjoyed our numerous stays in K.L.  The walks are great, the level of comfort & the home from home vibe.  Some restaurants seem to be struggling for staff unfortunately so are offering limited menus and more are only opening Wednesday to Sunday.  Number 44 café always a great coffee stop with big sized delicious scones & cakes & tray bakes.  Tried Snooty Fox lunchtime meal deal this time which was very good value as it included a drink & good kids menu too.  The Royal are doing their pizza ‘beat the clock” deal again Monday to Thursday which works out good value too.  Another break which revolved round walking/running, eating & drinking – what’s not to like.

Jackie, our stay was short but sweet.  The cottage is simply lovely, warm, comfortable and has everything one needs.  You must have had great fun sourcing all the interesting knick-knacks.  We hope to visit again.  In the meantime I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to others.

Rain, hailstones & wind didn’t detract from a most relaxing weekend in KL.  We walked the banks of the river, remembered swimming & paddling around the bridge as children & scuttled to shelter for coffee (or a beer by the fire).  Avanti was amazing as always.  Delicious soup at Botanicals.  The main street shops felt like old friends.  And we popped into the beauticians for further time out.  Chapel Cottage was a perfectly located base.  Cosy warm & welcoming.  Spotlessly clean.  Everything we needed.   Thank you Jackie, we had a great time.

A perfect base to explore the local area, the Lake District and to catch up with family who live locally.  The cottage exceeded our expectations, providing a cosy setting, beautifully decorated – a real hidden gem!  Ice cream from The Milking Parlour is a must!

13th-15th August – We had a lovely time at Chapel Cottage.  So welcoming and homely.  Everywhere you look you see another nice ornament.  Impressed with the cleanliness and attention to detail.  We had a great night staying in on Friday catching up, really felt at home.  Kirkby Lonsdale is a great place and we’d definitely stay here again.

A very enjoyable stay in this lovely welcoming cottage.  Discovered what a great place “KL” is an so many places close by to discover – walking or exploring by car – some fantastic scenery!!  we tried a different eating place very night and were not disappointed (try “forty four” for the best Brownies ever!)

We had a lovely stay at Chapel Cottage.  Stunning cottage in lovely area and quiet surroundings.  Very homely and cosy.  Thankyou for the welcome gifts.  Really appreciated.  This is just what we needed to chill out and relax as lockdown is coming to an end.  Had a great time discovering the local are – Ruskin’s View, Devil’s Bridge.  We enjoyed some of the village eateries – Spice Essence, Silver Moon, and the ‘Bakery’ is highly recommended for sweet treats.  The Milking Parlour was a hit too.  

All in all, a wonderful stay.  Will definitely return in the future.  10/10.  The cottage is a credit to Jackie and her family.

We have had such a lovely stay at Chapel Cottage.  Such a beautiful place, well maintained, clean & tidy.  This is possibly the nicest accommodation you could wish for, you have done us proud Jackie!  Kirkby Lonsdale is a delight, a real gem of a place.  We will definitely recommend to family & friends, and hope to come back again.  We were lucky with the weather as well!

What can I say?  A last minute staycation to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary – and it has been a fantastic success!  Thank you Jackie for accommodating our Monday to Monday booking, which meant  we had a full week to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales .  (my previous visit, almost 40 years ago, was memorable for the fact it was 2 weeks of continuous, heavy rain!) Thankfully, that was not the case this time and we have been able to truly appreciate the beauty of this part of the country.  Even our teenage children have been entertained with kayaking on Lake Windermere, Footgolf and my son even climbed Scafell Pike with his dad.  he was so chuffed by the achievement! 

Our anniversary has been made all the more special by  the outstanding accommodation;  immaculate, stunning, every amenity you could wish for in your  own home, let alone a holiday cottage!  Thank you so much!

A relaxing mid wee break after lockdown was just what was needed.  Good to see the town opening up and  a nice meal on opening night at Platos.  Lovely walk to Barbon Cheesemouse village cafe for lunch a good 8 mile round trip with easy waling via holiday park and Casterton.  

Lotus Chinese takeaway very good as was Cafe 44.  Lovely to enjoy a bit of normality with social distancing and sanitizing evident and catch up with family who stayed next door at Corner cottage.

It has been lovely to come back to Kirkby Lonsdale (last year we stayed in Corner Cottage)  Both cottages are so welcoming and cozy.  We have appreciated all the thoughtful touches which make these very special places to stay.  We dodged the floods in Swaledale (just!) & walked for hours around Hawkshead & Tarn Hows.

Had a lovely week in Kirkby Lonsdale.  What a beautiful cottage, so many tasteful extra touches.  Very peaceful location, with everything you need locally.  Thankyou Jackie for the goodies you left, we all enjoyed them and for the great tips for places our teenagers may like to visit.

The weather was kind to us, was great to go to Lytham St Annes beach, the waterfalls and caves at Ingleton and of course the scenic lakes at Grasmere and Windermere.  Would love to come back.

The number of good eating places is disproportionate to the size of the village.  Definitely a gastronomic experience with Hipping Hall not to be missed!

Another lovely stay in this fabulous cottage.  Had both cottages this time for our Golden Wedding.  Perfect for getting into town, for shopping and dinning.  Family loved it also and I am sure we will be back again soon.

A lovely few days exploring Kirkby Lonsdale.  The cottage is a great base – beautifully furnished, comfy beds, lovely and warm and a gorgeous deep hot bath to luxuriate in!  We enjoyed lots of good food out, including Plato’s, Avanti and The Snooty Fox and return home rested and revived with full stomachs.  Thanks for a fabulous break.

20/07/18  5*  Wonderful weekend spend as a family at beautiful Chapel Cottage!  This has been such a lovely break with our 2 young children – fantastic accommodation, couldn’t want for anything.  Very precious family time in a fabulous village.  Enjoyed a lovely welcome in Bar Number 9 and the children loved the ‘Bakery’.  We would not hesitate to return to this beautiful home and have already recommended to friends and family!  Thank you xxx

Had a lovely stay in the cottage, the local butcher and baker are the true attraction to the village. With outstanding pork & chilli jam pie! Delicious!! Found it quite hard to find a restaurant on Saturday night, who knew it was such a busy village on a Saturday night. Will book in advance next time!

Thank you for a lovely week at Chapel Cottage.  We loved the village and did some serious shopping (clothes and chocolates, mostly).  The stroll from Radical steps to Devil’s Bridge was delightful, as was the longer trek to Whittington (Kirkby Lonsdale walk no 1).  The cottage was delightful and the kitchen equipment was a joy for those who like to cook.

May 15th-19th The Smiths & The Finnerty’s   Had a glorious few days in the cottage, a lovely walking destination.  Recommended are The River Lune Walk to Whittington and back, Ingleton Water Falls Trial.  Eating out at The Royal (excellent ribs), and Avanti (pizza, pasta 7 everything else).  Trip to Add to dictionary was a great day out.  Cottage was lovely and cosy, will be sure to recommend and diarise for a return next year.  Great comms from Jackie put the icing on the cake.  Thanks Gavin, Sharon, Mark & Julie. x

August 1st-5th 2016  TRUEMAN PARTY.  A lovely stay – the weather wasn’t on our side but enjoyed K.L. nonetheless.  Had several lovely meals at Plato’s with a very enjoyable Wedding Anniversary dinner.  To any families, we would recommend Leighton Hall’s family afternoon.  The cottage was a lovely base to return to – thanks to Jackie and family.  Great stay!! 25-29 JULY 2016.  THE TICKLE & SUTTON PARTY.  Gorgeous little cottage, very cosy!  Love the kitchen and the living room – so homely!  We were blessed with lovely warm weather and so went on a lovely walk to Carnforth and back and to Windermere.  Kirkby Lonsdale is such a nice place – the people are so kind and welcoming -could not have asked for a better start to the summer holiday!  Thank you so much for having us!  Thank you.

Gareth, Caroline, Jacob & Isabel Littlewood – 28th-30th December 2015.  What a lovely way to finish 2015 off.  The cottage has everything you want and more.  Great base and location for our favourite place, Kirkby Lonsdale.  Very short stay that has come to an end too soon.  Been for some lovely walks to see the floods that reamin and the damage the river has caused.  Lovely meals in Avanti and Plato.  Avanti Pizzas fantastic for the kids (must book though).  Few drinks and walk back, what more can you want.  We will be back!  Thanks for the wine and chocolates of which the kids have loved.  Thanks Gareth.

7th December 2015 ‘The Hicks’ (Preston).  We spent a  lovely weekend in this cosy cottage, ideally situated for walks, eats, drinks, shopping – whatever your interests.  It was the weekend of flooding so an excuse to curl up in front of the fire and enjoy the local hospitality.

The cottage is beautiful and we really appreciated the little touches you left as part of our welcome.  No matter about the torrential rain – there’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing!  We got to see some of the Christmas festivities on Sunday when the sun came out and that got us in to the spirit.  Merry Christmas to you and yours.  Gordon, Caroline, Deb & Sheldon. xxxx

30th October 2015.  Thank you for a lovely week in your wonderful cottage.  We really appreciated all the thoughtful touches.  The information provided helped us to get the most out of our first stay in Kirkby Lonsdale. The local walks are great, giving lovely views and the fabulous autumn colours this year have been a delight.  The shops and restaurants are very good – lovely pies from the butchers, bread and cakes from the bakery and a very good meal at The Sun Inn.  The Jacksons, Sheffield.

October 12th-16th October.  Your cottage is esquisite and tasteful.  We have had a wonderful time.  Thanks for the wine.  We are going to eat at The Sun Inn tonight.  Pauline & Bill xxx

26th-28th Sept 15.  Really lovely stay at my ‘sisters’ “bolt hole”, to visit Yarndale.  Also did the Ingleton Waterfalls walk, well worth it.  Georgous, well equipped cottage with the softest sheets and I loved the window seats.  Many thanks for the wine, which went down easily by candlelight.  Thanks Viv, Sam & Angela. xx

21st-25th Sept’ 15.  Thank you for a lovely stay.  What a nice cottage in a great part of the world.  We have had a fantastic holiday… our baby Ruby’s firs holiday!  We will hope to be back.  Recommend the tea @ Devils Bridge.  What brew what a scene!  Keith, Claire & Ruby.

15th-21st August 2015. Neil & Sara Pallant – Bury St Edmunds.  4 weeks ago our planned holiday to celebrate a 50th birthday (Neil) was lost as The Vivat Trust went insolvent.  We never thought we would find such a perfect cottage, at short notice in peak holiday season.  Faultless, so comfortable and peaceful yet in the heart of this lovely town.  Thank you.  Some of the things we learnt this week:-

– Fishermen are grumpy and think they own the river!

-If walking up Ingleborough from Clapham go via Sulber…it’s quieter and more scenic.

– The Highwayman Inn is a nice place for a meal.

– We want to live here.

10th-14th August 2015 The Ibbostsons-York.  Gorgeous cottage.  We enjoyed our time here and exploring the area.  Hope to return soon.  Will tell our friends.  Thanks

7th-10th August 2015 – The Walshaws.  Lovely cottage, felt at home right away.  It was the perfect location for a Kirkby Wedding!

27-31 July Andrea, Martin, Daniel & Abigail Grey – York …………. Very comfortable cottage in an ideal location.  Visited Sizergh Castle, Bowness and Windermere on the sunny days and headed to Lancaster when it rained as there are plenty of museums.

20th-26th July 2015 Van Veenendaals & Martins from London & Scotland. – A very relaxing stay in a delightful cottage, in a hidden oasis.  Lovely welcoming town.  Great coffee and breakfasts etc at The “Forty Four”.  Home from home comfort.  Many Thanks Jackie.

13-19 July Cathy & Colin Hunsley – Basingstoke, Rich & Jeni & Mark Hunsley – London.  Lovely cottage and delightful town.  We had meals at The Pheasant, The Red Dragon, Avanti and The Orange Tree.  There’s a nice off road walk most of the way to The Pheasant.  For activities we’d recommend the train ride along the coast from Lancaster to Barrow in Furness and then on to Carlisle.  And there’s a special round robin ticket to do it. Just a warning that if you get bitten by mozzies to use precautions in the evening and if you go walking – we got very badly bitten.

The Murray’s – Rainford, Nr St Helens 26-29 June.  A wonderful place to explore.  Amazing cottage – Jackie its even better than the photographs!  A lovely sunny Saturday for us to explore the local sights.  Nice meals at The Red Dragon & The Highwayman.  And a great tour of White Scar Caves.

The Russells – Surrey.  Lovely friendly town.  Lovely cottage and a very enjoyable stay.

15th June Alan & Mary Bool – Your cottage is lovely, sadly there were only 2 of us to enjoy it.

5/6-12/6 Sue & Steve Helensburgh.  A fantastic cottage in a great village with plenty of good food and drink and we completed the Yorkshire three peaks.  A really good week all round!

1/6 – 5/6 John & Margaret-Liverpool Cath & Bernie-St Helens….. Had a lovely time in this lovely cottage – nice and quiet location .  Weather wasn’t too bad to stop us going on a few nice walks

22nd-25th May Griffin & Rawnsley family – Matilda 12, Eliza 9, Caroline 38, Ben 41, Kate 68, Ronnie 69. A clean, comfortable and cosy cottage in a perfect location.  Beautifully presented with all you need for a relaxing stay.  We had a lovely walk to both Ruskin’s view and Devil’s Bridge.  The weather was kind to us and we also enjoyed lovely meals at both Plato’s in Kirkby Lonsdale and The Highwayman in Burrow.  We also walked the coastal walk at Arnside.  Thank you for our lovely stay and we really enjoyed it.  (I particularly enjoyed the walk to Devil’s Bridge as I have learnt about it in school!).

1st May-7th May Tony & Pauline Jones, Burscough Lancashire.  Our third stay at Chapel Cottage, weather awful again, but what the heck!!  The cottage is so warm and welcoming who cares about the weather, we still managed some great walks and had the best food we have had on any holiday.  Can highly recommend The Pheasant at Casterton, The Barbon, The Royal Hotel, Avanti and Plato’s.  Can’t wait for our next visit.  P.S. We agree with the  family below about other peoples clutter – Well Done Jackie.

24th April-1st May.  Chris and Robin Nicholas Surrey..  Very happy to have found this gem of a cottage.  After our days exploring the local towns by a very efficient bus service and after an incredible walk up Ingelborough Peak, this house was a pleasure to return to.  It is centrally located for everything this area has to offer.  The cottage achieves the unusual feeling that it is “ours” rather than just borrowing it for a week or two from the owners and dealing with their clutter and storage which we have found previously in other accommodation.  It is well equipped, quiet and comfortable, and we hope to return.  Great, unpretentious atmosphere in The Orange Tree-best local beer selection.  Wonderful to explore local independant shops.  10/10 Jackie!

10th April – 17th April 2015  The Egan family – Cardiff, Wales.    We have had a wonderful time here at Chapel Cottage.  The cottage is stunning and yes also ‘homely’ – we were very happy here and appreciated all the special touches Jackie has added (kids loved Easter treats!)  We did lots of touring of the Lakes – highlights included Sizergh Castle, Hilltop (Beatrix Potter) and the Steam Gondola on Coniston.  Kids (age 10 & 6) loved the local park and zip wire.  We ate at The Sun Inn (very good) and travelled to The Pheasant at Bassenthwaite (fab!)  Enjoyed the local shops and walks too.  Thank you for making this place so loveley – we hope to return .  THE EGANS x

March’s penultimate weekend in 2015….and what a couple of days it has been!  The wonderful weather decided to meet us here and we were only too happy that the sun did not resent having been hidden by our celestial moon on the day before!  We arrived to find the most perfect little abode, set in the back of the square where only the regular chimes of the church rocked our life.  This is a formidable gem that we have been very lucky to enjoy…. and will be delighted to make a lot of noise about!!  Many many thanks from all of us without the clan xxx

March 2015 – Mick, Sue, Dave and Sally – This cottage is really special, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly wish for, we all loved it. The location means that you can literally park the car and walk everywhere it’s central to all the amenities. We will definitely be back.

23 Feb – 13 March Jane & Douglas de Brule.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Chapel Cottage despite the rain managed some interesting walks including Ingleton Falls.  The house is centrally located for shops and pubs.  Particularly enjoyed The Sun Inn and the Pub at Barbon.  We will return!  We found the bus service in Kirkby Lonsdale very well on both sides of the Lune Valley and splendid views of the fells!

20th Feb – 23rd Feb 2015  “The Mittons & The Casey’s”  A beautiful cottage loved by the whole family!  Had a great weekend despite of the rain.  Thank you.

28.12.14-2.1.15  “The Palframan’s & friends.”  What an ideal position, no driving, just chilling, never visited Kirkby Lonsdale before, will certainly return.  The cottage is fab.  Who needs to stay in a hotel.  Can’t believe you’ve thought of everything, home from home.  We all wish you a Happy New Year and cheers for the champagne.

23-28th Dec.  The Levins.  Had a fabulous Christmas.  It is the best place in Kirkby Lonsdale!  The decor and attention to detail in the cottage is very nice.  It was a peaceful and relaxing Christmas.  We hope to stay here again!

Good Friday 18/4/14 -25/4/14 The Darbyshires & The Duxbury’s (again). It just wouldn’t be Easter without another visit to Chapel Cottage!  Two years since our last holiday at Kirkby Lonsdale and the memories are still as valuable.  We’ve  found two new friends.  The gigantic ginger cat and the mouse that lives in the birdhouse.  Make sure you use the jigsaw cutter for cookies!  Worth a special mention, Avanti and The Red Dragon and Grandmas roast lamb.  The walking was perfectly timed with glorious weather and a look around the shops.  A big thank you to Jackie for the Easter Eggs and the champagne.  By Freya Darbyshire aged 14 and a half.

5-11th April 2014  Julie, John, Beth & Ollie – Lincolnshire  Cottage absolutely gorgeous!  Lovely quiet setting and beautifully decorated.  Thank you for the thoughtful extras of wine, chocs and biscuits, much appreciated.  Weather has not been great but hasn’t dampened our enthusiasm for this wonderful picturesque part of the world!  Ingleborough Caves worth a visit, very interesting experience.  Casterton 9 hole Golf Club great for a few hours of fun.  Would highly recommend The Red Dragon pub for meals too. Only slight downside for us was parking issues as our vehicle wouldn’t fit through the arch.

21st to 23rd March 2014.  Janet & Simon Lord, Sarah & Sophie – Widness, Cheshire.  We’ve had a really relaxing time – loved the cottage, especially the colour schemes, the hot water and the little touches like the fresh flowers.  Thankyou Jackie.

Thankyou for a very enjoyable stay in such a lovely cottage.  Ideal location making my 40th birthday that bit special.  Lovely meal at Avanti, and walks along the river to Devils Bridge (even in the rain).  Fantastic park enjoyed by Joshua (8).  All the special touches on our arrival in the cottage was a lovely surprise (Joshua especially liked the biscuits:-)  Don’t want to leave.  Will be back and recommend to family and friends.  Thanks again Jackie.

21st-28th June – Colette, John, Isabella & Isla Rothwell – Southport…We have had a lovely week in your cottage.  The weather has been mixed but that hasn’t stopped the girls wearing the swings out in the local park!!  We’ve had some nice meals out at Platos, Avanti and The Royal Hotel which we’d recommend and not forgetting Emily’s Cafe which the girls loved because of the toys.  Thanks Jackie we’ve had a memorable week.

13-17 May – Jane & John Griffiths-Southport:- We’ve enjoyed a very relaxing time in Chapel Cottage.  Love the gorgeous decor and cozy atmosphere, such a beautiful place to stay.  Thankyou Jackie for providing the perfect place from which to enjoy Kirkby Lonsdale.

19-26th April – Amos – A lovely sechluded but accessible holiday home.  We really enjoyed the comfort, piece and relaxation of this cottage.

12-15 April – The Dalton family – Heysham & Letchworth.  Enjoyed our stay and appreciated the homely touches.  Our second visit here and just as perfect as ever.  A terrific place for a family gathering.  Enjoyed our evening dinning out Saturday at Avanti (great food & staff) and Afternoon Tea at The Royal really excellent.  Thankyou Jackie.  Sure we’ll return.

5-12th April – Hilary, Glynn & Wendy – Aberdeen & Cornwall.  Enjoyed our stay and appreciate the lovely touches.

22-25th March – Collette & Friends.  Fab cottage, cannot fault anything, love all the small touches.  Feels like ‘home’.  Many thanks and will be booking again.

The Roberts Party – Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool & Skipton.  Very relaxing weekend in comfortable surroundings.  A good base to catch up when we live in different parts.  Thanks Jackie for the ‘extra’ little touches to make it home from home. x

18-22 Feb – “The Kitts” – Third time here at Chapel Cottage.  Very peaceful and restful time.  Thanks again.

16-18 Feb- Brammer/Topples – London…We love it here.  So relaxing, its lovely and quiet and we have had the best sleep ever!  I can recommend the park, the zip wire was a big hit with my 4 year old.  Thankyou for a lovely weekend. x

The Loughlins – Manchester 1-4 February – Had a lovely time at the cottage, we felt right at home here.  We will definitely be visiting again!  Had a brilliant trip to South Lakes Zoo and had a lovely meal in The Sun Inn.  Something for everybody here, we are all sad to leave.

18-20 January – The ‘Cormack’ Party…….Although sadly some of our party missing, we have had a fantastic couple of days.  Really beautiful cottage, amazing shops and lovely meal in the Orange Tree.  Very impressed by our welcome all the locals very friendly.  We would love to visit again with hopefully, our friends who missed a great time.  Many thanks Jackie for all your help.

14-16 Dec’.  The Mackays, Wirral..Another fantastic weeend in this lovely cottage.  Missed our mates though but we have sooo totally relaxed.  Just wonderful – Thanks.

10-14 December – Ken & Lynn Mallion, Didsbury, Manchester…..Another wonderful stay in Chapel Cottage.  The Christmas decorations and the “bubbly” made it even more special.  We’re looking forward to another visit next year.

Just about the best self-catering accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. Very cosy and comfortable. The extras left by Jackie made Chapel Cottage even more welcoming. A delightful location in a superb town in a wonderful location. We’ll certainly be back to enjoy more walking hopefully when the sun is out – we saw it once, but it is November. Thankyou Jackie, Just lovely.

Such a beautiful place and very comfortable, great bed, huge bath and marvelous shower. Spotless and faultless. We even got the Landrover through the arch ‘great’, many thanks Jackie. Would love to return and share this wonderful spot.

Wow! What a lovely cottage. We love Kirkby Lonsdale and staying in such a lovely place was the icing on the cake! Amazing shops, lovely walks, beautiful scenery and very welcoming pubs! – Shame they kept our husbands locked in till 1.30am!! We will be back. x x

Always a favourite childhood destination. It has been lovely to return to Kirkby Lonsdale decades later and find it unchanged. The cottage is just perfect in every way. I wish I was staying for 2 weeks, not just 2 nights!! We enjoyed afternoon tea in the sunny front garden, also loved wondering around the village “taking it all in”, and the lovely shops offered many gift and scarf purchasing opportunites. The Sun Inn and Platos are highly recommended. I will return to this lovely place, hopefully for much longer next time. Thanks Sandra & Karen for all the laughs! (organising the weekend), and thankyou Jackie!

7th stay in the town in a variety of venues from cottages to hotels.  Great to have ‘on-site parking’.  Beautiful cottage.  Pub grub at The Orange Tree  good especially their specials nights.  Butchers sausages are all winners in our eyes.    The time to chill and read the papers in any of the hotels/pubs always good after some great walking.  We love the town so will be back.

Definitely one of the best holiday cottages around. Convenient location in the heart of idyllic Kirkby Lonsdale only a short stroll from fantastic pubs, restaurants and shops. Great walking from the doorstep. Beautifully appointed cottage – not a doylie in sight. A real boutique hotel feel to the place. The cottage seems to afford the perfect (and rare) balance between luxury and homeliness and between modern convenience and old world charm resulting in a wonderfully comfortable and relaxed stay. The hosts seem to have thought of everything and their attention to detail is apparent throughout the tasteful renovation. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. My advice would be to book now before word gets out about this five star hideaway!
